As I started my new job I realized that this job may be more dangerous that the ones I've had in my past. I was an intern at a paralegals office and found a website for stun guns online.
As I would work in the field there were always people that would yell at me. There was no doubt in my mind that i needed some form of self defense in case it ever went too far.
Some would pursue me to my car after the interview, others would wait outside the office, all wanting to make a point. They would point a finger at me and demand answers.
When I first browsed stun guns for sale, I noticed right away that they did not all look the same. I had the mistaken impression that they did. It turned out they can resemble cell phones, pagers, hand held devices like the Blackberry.
If I were to carry around a big Taser or stun gun everyday it may scare those that I work with or even cause the people that I am interviewing to mistrust me. This made it very important for me to find a stun gun that didn't have a "scary" appearance.
As I was doing my research online about stun guns I learned that in order to make a stun gun non lethal you have to pass the high voltage electric shock through the low current.
I also discovered that hand sizes and grips vary. I lug a thick pile of case files around from door to to door everyday. To say I have my hands full would be an understatement so I appreciate the variations.
With all of the research that I did online and the knowledge that I gained I was able to make an educated decision on what kind of stun gun I wanted to purchase for my personal use. This gave me the calmness I needed at work.
