Criminals Can Buy This Taser, But They Can't Use It!
In a perfect world, no one would need to carry a stun device. There, now that we've said that, let's move on to reality. If circumstances require you to carry a stun device, then you shouldn't settle for less than the baddest, and all indications point to the Taser (TM) C2 series as being exactly what the doctor ordered. With an effectiveness rating of nearly 100%, the non-lethal C2 has a greater instant incapacitation rate than a 9mm hand gun! In this latest breed of self defense devices, Taser (TM) has combined traditional minimal-injury stun technology with something new called Electro-Muscular Disruption (EMD). EMD technology overrides the central nervous system, meaning, among other things, that the attacker's arms and legs suddenly don't work. This causes a quick and complete take-down. The device primarily operates by firing two darts connected to 15 feet of wire, but if the potential victim has already been overtaken, it can also be used as a contact stun device. EMD technology aside, there are two other aspects of the C2 that are especially appealing to me, and they both have to do with the thoughtfulness and sense of accountablity regularly employed by Taser (TM). The first is the fact that people with criminal records can buy these things, and maybe even throw them at other people, but they can't fire them or use them as stun devices. Out of the box, a C2 may as well be a block of wood. To activate it, the new owner must call the toll-free number or go online, remit $9.95, and otherwise follow the instructions that came with the device. Be advised that having done so, you have just submitted yourself to a criminal background check. So, Mister Predator, if you have a record, you have just bought yourself a scary-looking paperweight, and that's all. Downright cruel, isn't it? Secondly, when fired, the C2 will send out a 50,000 volt energy charge that will continue for 30 seconds. Taser (TM) devised this feature for a reason, and strongly recommends that the defender use this 30 second interval to abandon the instrument and get to safety. You needn't go back later in hopes of retrieving your C2. Send a copy of the police report to the company and they will send you a brand-new one, free of charge.
