Bad guys don't always come to the front door. In fact, many criminals whose specialty is breaking and entering prefer to go around to the back or the side of your home or office and not use a door at all. Doors are solid and have locksets that can be difficult to deal with. It is much easier to break a window pane using a variety of methods to deaden the sound. Since the last thing we want to do for perperators is to make life easier, someone invented the Glass Breakage Alarm.

Unlike many home alarm door units, the Glass Breakage Alarm does not rely on an interrupted electrical circuit. Instead, it is able to sense vibration and physical movement in the object to which it is attached. The vibration resulting from a simple knock on a window is enough to set it off. After sounding for about 30 seconds it will re-arm in case the intruder comes back. The way it operates also makes it an ideal home security device for protecting individual computers, televisions and so forth.

These units are not hard wired. They operate on batteries, which means they can be installed in detached sheds or garages without becoming a major home project. Simply affix the Glass Breakage Alarm to the surface being protected using the strong adhesive tape provided. Then turn it on and walk away. Owners will want to periodically check the 12 volt battery it contains while performing other routine maintenance chores.

At a retail price of under ten dollars each, most people can afford to install a Glass Breakage Alarm on every strategic window or French door in the building; or if we put it another way, most people can't afford not to. We all despise human predators, but they are not going to go away anytime soon, so the least we can do for them is to make their professional lives more difficult. Thus, we enhance our own peace of mind as we go about the business of earning an honest living. Consider the purchase of a compact window alarm as an investment in the future. With any luck, you'll never know what could have gone wrong otherwise.
